Attention machine builders: Used machines from a precision manufacturer up for auction

At an auction running until 12th July, machine builders have the opportunity to acquire high-quality used machines from an English precision manufacturer. The CNC lathes, horizontal band saws and a CNC machining centre are being auctioned by the international industrial auction house Surplex.

“B2B auctions are not only an indicator of economic crises and insolvencies. Used machinery is also available because companies want to adapt and reposition themselves,” explains Antony Reed, Country Manager for the UK at industrial auction house Surplex. What one company no longer needs can be suitable for others. The advantage for buyers of used machinery: the equipment is immediately available and at a lower cost compared to new machines. Many decision-makers have already recognised this, leading to a steadily increasing buyer interest registered at Surplex.

Auction for metal processing in England
Metalworking machines are available as a result of the restructuring of a specialist in the precision engineering of bespoke machine components. The auction runs until 12/07/23 and includes the following machines:

  • CNC lathes: DMG GILDEMEISTER Sprint 42 and MURATEC MT-20 GYMC
  • Horizontal Band Saws: 2 x EVERISING H-360 HA.

The machines are located in Preston (Merseyside) near Liverpool. Reed states, “The machines are from renowned manufacturers and have been well-maintained and serviced. This means they have still a long service life ahead of them.”

To complete the auction listing, the UK team have added a CNC Machining Centre from Thurmaston near Leicester. “The DMU40 eVo from Deckel-Maho is even equipped with a measuring system,” Reed explains. The optical infrared probe RENISHAW PP60 ensures a 25% higher precision by inspecting the workpieces during set-up and after production.
